I’ve been in my ‘Little Rascals’ bubble for the past 10 years and those early days of business launches, website creation, marketing, branding are a bit of a distant memory now that I forgot just how exciting it was!
I have absolutely LOVED the past few weeks creating my new business – but before I could get started on the more ‘fluffy’ and forward facing aspects like branding and website content, it was crucial for me to focus on my vision. What skills have I got? Who would be my ideal client? How can I add value to them? Is my vision aligned with my core values? Is my vision aligned with my passion and where I want to spend my energy and time?
Only once you have a clear vision and you know how you will add value and who your customers are then can you set about making it happen by focusing on your strategy to turn that vision into reality. It is so important to get it the right way around and this is something that can be a major factor in determining if a business is going to succeed.

What do you need to think about when starting your business?
What are your values? i.e. is it to add value for your customers, to be honest, to be trustworthy, to be cost effective, to be very expensive and only targeted at high range customers? The values of Asda will be completely different to Harrods for example.
What is your vision for the next 5-10 years? Think about where you would like your business to be in the future. You can then create the strategy to get you there. If you don’t know which direction you are heading you may end up not getting anywhere and getting frustrated wondering where you went wrong.
